Creation of Man in the Holy Qur’an
Product of Wet Earth
“Verily We created man from a product of wet earth”.
The quintessence of clay gives a sense of the original creation of man from a humble and abandoned substance. The intake of food by the subsequent generation is also from the soil.
Creation from Clay
“And He began the creation of man from clay”.
The plain meaning of the verse indicates and affirms the creation of man, in the beginning, was from the soil. The ingredients thereof are to be explained hereinafter. Everything created by Allah has its separate identity. The continuity in the generation is done through a couple, thereof.
Resemblance of Potter’s Clay
“He created man of clay like the potter’s clay”.
The creation of man, originally, was from clay, made into mud, and thereafter in sounding clay just like of a potter. The ingredient of water is taken away to make it as dry. The taking away of water means that Oxygen and Hydrogen, resultantly, were taken away. After making it dry, life was given to it and its organs were made to function.
Constituent Elements of the Human Body
“Verily We created man of potter’s clay of black mud altered”.
The soil, having different forms, is known with different names. A soil, when dried is called Turab, wet soil is called Teen, sifted soil that has a bad smell is called Hm’a Masnoon i.e. sifted soil, when dried and giving a sound is called Salsal, and Salsal after putting it into the fire, is called Al-fakh’ar. The creation of man is from clay. Clay materials are composed of solid, and liquid and have undergone vapor phases. The solid phases are of mineral and organic phases that make up the framework of the clay materials. Therefore, the parts of clay are the basic components of the human body. When a small quantity of water is added to clay, it becomes mud. Mud is a liquid or semi-liquid mixture of water and some combination of soil, silt, and clay. Mud is closely related to slurry and sediment. Mud contained cosmetic or healing properties as well. Mud can provide a home for numerous types of animals, including varieties of worms, frogs, snails, clams, and crayfish. Other animals, such as pigs and elephants bathe in mud to cool off and to protect themselves from the heat of the sun. Soil is the naturally occurring, unconsolidated, or loose covering of broken rock particles and decaying organic matter (humus) on the surface of the Earth, capable of supporting life. Soil has three components: solid, liquid, and gas. The solid phase is a mixture of mineral and organic matter. Soil is also known as earth: Soil color results from chemical and biological weathering. Iron forms secondary minerals with a yellow or red color; organic matter decomposes into brown compounds. Manganese, sulfur, and nitrogen can form black mineral deposits. Soil texture refers to sand, silt, and clay composition. Clay content is influential on soil behavior due to a high retention capacity for nutrients and water. Soil is often initially acid because its parent materials are acid and initially low in the basic cations (calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium).
